CEO
Dr. David R. Grimm

Dr. Grimm earned his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology in 1993 from the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO.  He has 17 years experience as a scientific researcher, speaker and instructor, as well as 11 years experience managing research laboratories.  He also authored or co-authored 25 scientific publications.  Dr. Grimm also has 17 years experience in Christian ministry, including being a Certified Teacher/Trainer in Evangelism Explosion.  In 2002, he founded Help Overcoming Painful Experiences and has led the ministry locally in Illinois, Wisconsin and Arizona.  He is the author of the four books currently used in the H.O.P.E. program, namely Doorway to H.O.P.E., Names of H.O.P.E., The Spiritual & Emotional Coach’s Guide and The Passage From Boyhood to Manhood: Seven Truths Fathers Need to Tell Their Sons.  Dr. Grimm helps establish new locations, promotes the ministry and our principles through speaking engagements (including the A Revolution of HOPE conferences) and continues to develop new materials.

 

President
James C. Grimm

James Grimm was approved as President in 2008.  He brings 20 years of management experience to H.O.P.E., all in the southern Illinois area.  His experience includes eight years as owner and manager of sales and marketing at his own graphics company, five years as a manager of sales and marketing at one of the largest propane distributor in southern Illinois, and 5 years experience in management of the same company.  As President, he is in charge of sales and marketing, where he helps promote the ministry to new locations and promotes the ministry and our principles through speaking engagements (including the A Revolution of HOPE conferences).

 

Vice President
Alan Owens

Alan Owens earned his B.A. in Bible Studies in 1985 from Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, TN.  He brings 14 years experience in Christian ministry to H.O.P.E., including nine years of service as an Executive Pastor at churches in Missouri and Illinois.  Alan also provides eight years experience planning and preparing church budgets.  As Vice President, he is in charge of budget preparations, promoting the ministry to new locations, conference coordination and helping establish new locations.

 

Secretary
Tiffany W. Grimm

Tiffany Grimm (wife of David Grimm) earned her B.S. in Early Childhood and Special Education in 1992 from Bowie State University in Bowie, MD.  She brings nine years experience in teaching and mentoring to H.O.P.E., including nine years as a teacher in elementary and special education, four years as an educational director and camp counselor and two years as a teen mother mentor.  As Secretary, she is in charge of administrative assistance and conference coordination.  Tiffany also contributes to H.O.P.E. as the developer and writer of the age appropriate versions of our program (for both elementary and junior high school students).

 

Treasurer
Julie A. Thompson

Julie Thompson brings 19 years experience in the management of service, operations and sales in the southern Illinois area.  As a Director, she contributes in the areas of fundraising, finances, marketing, administrative assistance, promoting the ministry to new locations and conference coordination.
